With the countdown to the March 20 release date underway, BTS have revealed the 14-song tracklist for their highly anticipated comeback album.
“Swim” serves as the theme song, The anthemic “Into the Sun” closes the album – the band announced this on Tuesday. The tracks were produced and written by some of the biggest names in music including Mike WiLL Made-It, Flume, Diplo, El Guincho, JPEGMAFIA and Ryan Tedder.
The project is intended to be a culmination of the journeys that V, Suga, Jin, Jungkook, RM, Jimin and J-Hope have taken over their 13-year career – a time in which all have also embarked on solo projects. For their first album together since 2020, the members took a very “hands-on” approach to its creation; RM was involved in every track except the interlude.
Who did what
The band explained that SUGA and J-Hope are featured on several tracks, including “Body to Body,” “Merry Go Round,” and “Normal.” Jimin was involved in the creation of “they don’t know ’bout us” and “Into the Sun”; V worked on “2.0” and “Into the Sun”; and Jung Kook contributed to four songs, including “Hooligan.”
The album title is derived from the traditional Korean folk song “Arirang” – the band chose this name because it corresponds so closely with their current journey. “The new work explores universal emotions of longing and love and will touch global audiences as a timeless legacy across generations and cultures,” BTS said in an earlier statement.
BTS will make their comeback with a massive world tour starting April 9th in Goyang, South Korea. At the end of April they will stop in Tampa, Florida, before the US leg of the tour ends in California in September. Those who didn’t get a concert ticket or simply can’t wait for BTS anymore have the opportunity to attend a screening of the film “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ Live Viewing”, which will be shown in cinemas this April.
