After concerts in Seoul and Tokyo, BTS brought their Arirang World Tour to North America on Saturday – with the first of three sold-out nights at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The Superstars’ setlist didn’t differ too much from their previous shows on the tour, but there were a few surprises at Encore. On the first night in Tampa, BTS’s 2021 hit single “Permission to Dance” made its tour premiere:
Immediately afterwards, the group played “Magic Shop” – also for the first time on this tour and for the first time since 2019:
Tampa, El Paso, Mexico City
BTS will perform twice more in Tampa on Sunday and Tuesday before the Arirang World Tour moves on to El Paso, Texas on May 2nd and 3rd. After three nights in Mexico City, the tour will stop at Stanford Stadium in Santa Clara, California in May – three shows before BTS hits Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
This will be followed by a European leg in June and July before the band returns to the USA on August 1st with two shows at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Arirang World Tour – the group’s first tour after completing their mandatory military service – now keeps BTS on the road until March 2027.
“I think we’re getting back into the rhythm of touring without much problem. All the members wanted to tour so badly; they held on through gritted teeth. It was hard for me to keep up, but I’ll do my best,” Jin told Rolling Stone about returning to tour with BTS.
Jin’s promise to the audience
“My biggest dream was to tour with BTS and meet as many fans as possible around the world. But when we first got our tour plans, there were very few stops in it, and the tour was only supposed to last about three to four months. I said, ‘Now that we’re back, we promised so many people that we would come to them – it feels like we’re breaking that promise. I would like to restructure the tour so that we can take more cities.’ This is how we came to the final tour plan. A four-month tour ended up lasting over a year.”
