Brutal robbers of a jeweler in Roosendaal left expensive jewelry

The four robbers who robbed Siebel jewelry store in Roosendaal at night in early March probably didn’t know what they were doing. For example, one of them proceeded clumsily and they also left the more expensive jewelry behind.

That is what the police say in the investigation program Opsporing Verzocht. Footage of the robbery was shown on Tuesday evening. This concerns surveillance images, but also images from the bodycam of the officer who was the first to respond to the report.

The robbers were only inside for 1.5 minutes, but wreaked havoc. They blew up the front door and smashed all the display cases with sledgehammers, sometimes so clumsily that they themselves were buried under the glass.

The robbers came to Rosada with a small red Peugeot 107 and first parked for a while in front of the closed entrance gate. Then the fence was rammed and two more robbers on scooters entered the property. The car had previously been stolen in Amsterdam.

An explosive device was then thrown into the jeweler’s letterbox. Three of the men then entered the store and grabbed what they could. Later, the fourth robber also joined. “It seems as if they are just randomly grabbing something,” said the police. “Expensive jewelry remains.”

The four robbers drove off on the scooters and left the car.
