Brussels bans horse-drawn carriages: “You will still see them driving, only … without horses” | Brussels

From 2024, the end of the story will be for the recognizable horse-drawn carriages in Brussels. For years they have been transporting visitors across iconic places such as the Grote Markt, but they will soon be replaced by electric ones. Operator Thibaut Dantine points to the logistical difficulties, but also to a change in mentality. “There is increasing criticism of companies that make money from animals, while our horses were well cared for.”
