More than 200 neighborhood committees have requested flowers through the city to place on facades or plant in front gardens. From Zeebrugge to all other municipalities and districts. The intention is to make the neighborhood more colorful, but also to connect the residents.

“The idea is to ask the neighbors: do you want flowers? And how many, and what kind,” says Sabien Stieperaere. “Then you ultimately create that neighborhood connection by going around the neighborhood with the flowers or putting them there, and people come. That can sometimes be with a snack and a drink, fun driveway parties, I call them. You then see a nice enthusiasm arise around the flower campaign.”
