The White House calls Springsteen a “loser” and predicts failure for his new tour – the numbers tell a different story.
US President Donald Trump and his team have been at loggerheads with Bruce Springsteen for some time. The rock musician recently took a clear position against the Trump administration as part of the escalations between demonstrators and the ICE immigration authority in Minneapolis. When Springsteen announced a new tour, the White House spoke up – with lots of negative words, of course.
Bruce Springsteen with “Trump delusion syndrome”?
After Bruce Springsteen announced his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour, the White House took a stand. Trump circles are convinced that the upcoming tour will be a failure. This is what the official spokesman for the White House, Steve Cheung, said in a statement to “Politico”: He called the “boss” a “loser” and diagnosed him with “Trump delusion syndrome.”
The full statement reads: “When this loser Springsteen returns in his mind to his own city of ruins, he will realize that his glory days are behind him and his fans have abandoned him in the streets, ostracized him on Tenth Avenue because he is suffering from a severe case of Trump Insanity Syndrome that has eaten away at his brain.”
The statement is a response to Bruce Springsteen’s criticism of the government’s violent crackdown on demonstrators in Minneapolis. To this end, the singer released the song “Streets of Minneapolis” in January 2026, which was inspired by what the musician himself calls “state terror that is sweeping over the city of Minneapolis”. The song is a response to the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both of whom were shot by ICE agents.
Bruce Springsteen’s previous tour was more successful than ever
If you look at the 76-year-old’s career, doubts quickly arise about the Trump administration’s statements. If you just let the numbers speak for themselves: Over the course of his career, the rock singer collected a whopping 20 Grammys, won an Oscar, and his album sales amount to 150 million.
The predicted failure of his upcoming tour can easily be doubted. Between 2023 and 2025, the “Boss” on the road was more successful than ever: He played 129 shows and sold over 4.9 million tickets. This brought in around $729.7 million – more than any Bruce Springsteen tour has ever done before.
