Map reader Samuel Ortiz died in an accident at the Rallye de La Cerámica Histórico in Spain.
According to Marca the fatal crash happened during the rally’s second special stage on Friday. Samuel Ortiz, who worked as a map reader, was found dead at the scene of the accident, but the brother who worked as a driver Jordi Ortiz was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The rescue authorities had to cut both of them out of the badly destroyed rally car.
Jordi Ortiz’s condition is critical. He is in intensive care at a local hospital.
The competition was not continued after the accident.
