Broken hand at Goretzka: FC Bayern will be missing “in the next games”

It has always been used so far

FC Bayern will have to do without national player Leon Goretzka for the time being. As the German record champions announced, the 28-year-old suffered a metacarpal fracture in the 3-1 (2-1) win in Mainz and was successfully operated on on Sunday. It is said that Munich will miss him “in the next few games”. FCB did not give an exact downtime.

Goretzka had prepared Harry Kane’s 2-0 and scored the 3-1 himself before being substituted for Bouna Sarr in the 75th minute. The right-footed player has played in all twelve competitive games so far, scoring two goals and two assists. Konrad Laimer could move back into the center for Goretzka; against Mainz, the Austrian replaced the injured Noussair Mazraoui on the right side of defense.

For coach Thomas Tuchel it is the next personnel setback. He ruled out Dayot Upamecano (hamstring injury) and Serge Gnabry (broken forearm) for the Champions League game against Galatasaray on Tuesday (6.45 p.m.), although both have recently returned to training. It would be “very tight” for Raphaël Guerreiro and Mazraoui to play in Turkey, Tuchel said.
