Broedertwist in Volendam: Walid and Bilal Ould-Chikh out in the fishing village

Walid and Bilal Ould-Chikh have reunited within the lines after years. The brothers have been playing together at FC Volendam since the arrival of Bilal, during the winter break. The island of Marken, the Volendammer costume and warm flipping were all unknown to the brothers. Time for a real acquaintance with Volendam. “This is like being abroad,” according to Bilal.

Walid and Bilal grew up in Roosendaal. Via a major detour, the players are now back together in one team. The 24-year-old Bilal was the growth brilliant who moved to Benfica at a young age. After being clubless for six months, he settled in Volendam via FC Utrecht, Denizlispor and ADO Den Haag.

Walid was already playing at De Dijk. The 22-year-old midfielder played football in youth at Feyenoord, FC Twente, PEC Zwolle and De Graafschap. Last summer he signed with Volendam and soon he worked in the team of trainer Wim Jonk.
