It’s not going well for Britt Dekker lately. Where she could always count on thunderous applause at the beginning of her career – Matthijs van Nieuwkerk was the chairman of her fan club – she has recently been dealing with fans who drop out. After Marc-Marie Huijbregts’ spicy sneer, she received the AD Mediapodcast today.

Criticism of Britt

Media journalist Marcus den Blanken of the AD is completely done with the presenter. She says she has become ‘so fake’. “I liked it at first, but now… I can just figure it out when she’s going to say something.”

Marcus received support from his famous colleague Angela de Jong. She accused Britt of being inauthentic years ago and then got into quite a fight with her. Britt reacted furiously and got support from Wendy van Dijk; Luuk Ikink, on the other hand, thought her reaction was greatly exaggerated.

Britt responds

What does Britt think of the latest swipe at her? She has not said or written anything about it herself, but she does like a tweet from Story editor-in-chief Guido den Aantrekker. He responds again to a tweet from the well-known twitterer Mies, who is disappointed in Britt: “Who you hoped would never succumb to fame. Unfortunately.”

Guido then: “Don’t believe those little podcasters in advance, Mies. They often hardly go out, don’t know anyone well personally. I know Britt as a good and sweet person. Rest is secondary.”

That tweet is rewarded by Britt with a like.

Guido and Britt

Guido regularly jumps into the breach for Britt when she is criticized again, but that has not always been the case. In April 2020, the magazine maker was still hard on her when she indicated that she was not disappointed with her poor viewing figures.

The Story Boss then: “’Presenters’ who are not fed up with low viewing figures should choose another profession – you are paid handsomely to attract viewers; TV is not a funded hobby. (…) It is your breeding duty to score high ratings.”

With those quotes Guido clearly showed that he did not see Britt as a real presenter.

Party

However, Britt packed Guido quite a bit during a party in October 2020, in the midst of the corona pandemic. “Meet Britt Dekker tonight at a party. I ❤️ her”, tweeted he then.

That outpouring caused Guido a lot of hassle at the time, because people found it incomprehensible that he was apparently celebrating a party during the lockdown. “We were hotel guests, with enough distance. Still hoarse from screaming,” he defended himself.

After that evening, Guido never said a bad word about Britt. And that again is grist to the mill of juice channels, who think that the regular show media is too much on the lap of celebrities.
