The serious incidents took place around 8:30 am local time in the London suburb of Croydon. The perpetrator and the victim had already gotten into a serious altercation on the bus. When they got out at a shopping center, the argument continued.
“He showed up with a group of friends and tried to give her flowers,” saw Chevanice Thomas. “However, she didn’t want to know anything about that. She clearly didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. One wrong comment completely blew his mind.”
The young man lashed out with a large knife and stabbed her in the neck and chest. The bus driver and a woman then administered first aid to her. Paramedics also tried to resuscitate her, but in vain.
An hour and fifteen minutes after the stabbing, the police were able to arrest a 17-year-old suspect. Photos and videos on X show that emergency services and police arrived en masse.
The girl is already the sixteenth teenager to be murdered in the British capital this year. A knife was used in thirteen cases.
