British detectives search with all their might for baby, missing parents arrested after almost two months | Abroad

The British police are searching with all their might for a baby of a few weeks old. The parents were arrested on Tuesday after they had been reported missing since January. Helicopters, drones and police dogs are deployed in the Brighton city area.

When Constance Marten (35) and Mark Gordon (48) disappeared, the baby was only days old. It is suspected that the missing couple traveled through England by taxi for weeks after their car had problems near Manchester in early January. Despite the freezing cold, they would have spent the nights outside.

The parents were arrested on suspicion of neglecting the child, later a charge of involuntary manslaughter was added. However, the hope of the investigators is to find the child still alive.

Convicted sex offender

According to the BBC, Gordon is a convicted sex offender who has served a 20-year sentence in the United States. In 2010 he would have traveled to the United Kingdom. Marten, on the other hand, comes from a wealthy aristocratic family, but has been estranged from them for years.

According to the BBC, the two moved out of their home in London in September, when it turned out that Marten was pregnant. At the beginning of January they had car trouble, the burning car was found on January 5th. Then they traveled to Liverpool, Essex and back to London. The British public broadcaster knows from the police that the couple had a large amount of money in their pocket and used camping equipment to live outside.
