British couple buys French village for a bargain price of 14,000 euros: “Buying a house in England was too expensive”

A British couple has bought a small village in France for just 14,000 euros. Paul Mappley and Yip Ward, both 48, did not consider buying a house in the UK an option due to the skyrocketing prices. The two men then searched across the border for a solution and finally found their happiness in La Buslière, a hamlet in the northern French region of Normandy.
