Britain to send Typhoon fighter jets to Romania for air patrol

The first group of 30 British special forces arrived to Ukraine at the end of January. London also supplied Kiev with 2,000 anti-tank weapons.

In addition, the UK announced plans to double the national contingent in Estonia from 900 to 1,800 troops, supply Apache helicopters to the Baltic countries, and send warships and fighter jets to the region.

On February 6, the Mirror, citing sources, reported that the UK had sent more than 100 special forces to Ukraine as advisers to transfer experience to the military. At a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Wallace said that there was no talk of sending special forces. He also noted that the short-range missiles that London supplied to Kiev are needed for protection, they do not pose a threat to other countries until they “invade Ukraine,” the minister stressed.

On February 12, British Undersecretary of Defense James Hippie announced that British military instructors would leave Ukraine on the weekend of February 12–13.
