The UK is ready to provide Ukraine with a loan of up to $500 million to “mitigate the economic consequences of Russian aggression”, informs Foreign office.

According to the report, Britain is ready to provide loan guarantees from the Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) for projects that will support Ukraine’s economic stability and “vital reforms such as the fight against corruption.”

Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) are international financial institutions that provide financial assistance to developing countries and are owned by shareholder governments such as the World Bank.

“We are ready to offer direct economic support, provide defensive weapons and expose Russian attempts to create false pretexts for an invasion,” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said.
