From next month to the end of April, Kaandorp would play her new show ‘Het Wild West’ in IJmuiden. At least six thousand people had bought a ticket for the show.
De Haarlem said via her website that she was felled by a long -term flu. “Initially I thought that I would be on my feet again with a few days of rest and good sleep,” writes Kaandorp. “But two weeks after Christmas I got a heavy flu that just didn’t want to pass. On top of that came a nagging ear infection.”
The comedian says that the decision to delete the 16 shows is hard for her. “In the more than forty years that I have been on stage, the times that I could not let a performance could not continue on one hand due to illness or circumstances. Only now I have no other choice.”
A good hole in programming theater
The theater in IJmuiden has a gap in their program due to the cancellations. In the coming days, the Haventheater will look at how they will further fill in the program. “That will become clear at the beginning of March. But for now it is especially sad for Brigitte Kaandorp itself,” says a spokesperson.
People with a ticket for the presentation of the cabaretière receive their money back. “That is a considerable operation, but is going to be fine.” Kaandorp promises to keep her audience informed if there are ‘new, happier developments’.
