A barn behind a house on the Munsterseweg in Emmer-Compascuum was destroyed this morning by fire. The fire was discovered around 6.15 am.
The flames soon developed into a blazing fire. Various fire brigades from Drenthe and Groningen were called to help extinguish the fire.
As far as we know, nobody was injured. At the fire. The barn could no longer be saved. The facade is still standing, but threatens to collapse. Solar panels lay on the shed. It is still being investigated whether glass particles have spread with the smoke in the area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
