Bridget Maasland is unlucky enough to be on RTL Boulevard duty again when there is news about her ex-lover André Hazes Jr. “Poor you, that you have to start talking about him again!”, her colleague shouts.

It is one of the most controversial affairs in Dutch showbiz history: that of André Hazes Jr. and Bridget Maasland. From beginning to end, their romance was extremely turbulent. It started with the Private story about how she stood somewhere with her panties around her ankles while André pleasured her, after which a lawsuit followed.

Tempers

André and Bridget continued to stir things up, but in the end she was put aside again because he cheated on him with his on-again-off-again sweetheart Monique Westenberg. Bridget was really put aside in a ruthless way and it is common knowledge that she has some kind of trauma from that period.

Yet Bridget escapes as a presenter RTL Boulevard I don’t think I still have to talk about him regularly. This was also the case yesterday, when the transfer of René and Natasja Froger to RTL was announced.

Pity

Bridget then makes a bridge to the news that André’s new soap series will not be shown on Talpa after all. “I was also thinking – I don’t think about that very often – but: André Hazes was of course once shown on Videoland with his documentary…,” she begins.

TV critic Rob Goossens then shows his pity for Bridget. “Poor you, having to start talking about him again.”

She then makes an ‘it is what it is’ gesture. Rob: “There is always news about him when you are here presenting!”

No news

Bridget tries to talk about it quickly. “Will there also be a reality soap? And then also on RTL?”

Rob: “Well, there is no news. At least: we can make the pool a bit smaller. Talpa has said: ‘We are certainly not going to do it.’ Of course he had the series before this on Videoland. It would be very logical for his series to land on RTL, either on the channel or on Videoland, but RTL did not know today who should be in charge of that.”

It is not very concrete at the moment, says Rob. Colleague Luuk Ikink: “Prime Video could also be possible, you have several streaming services.”

Nikkie soap

Luuk also has a proposal for another soap series. “Do you know what kind of reality soap I would like to see? One with Nikkie. That seems so interesting. Just watch it for a year at your house. That seems like something.”

Colleague Nikkie Plessen then: “No! Hahahaha.”

Bridget finally: “That seems like something to me too. That’s a good one.”
