Bridget Maasland looks back on her trip to SBS 6 with mixed feelings, for which she was allowed to make the travel show a place under the sun. “I have some problems with flying shame.”
It is also not easy for Bridget Maasland: you finally make a nice program abroad, you will then suffer from intense flying shame. During the turning period of her travel show A place under the sun, there was nothing wrong at all, but once back on Dutch soil it started to gnaw.
Guilt
Bridget’s guilt only came when the invoice had already been sent and the sunglasses were in the cupboard again, because how much CO2 did she actually have pumped the air into the air? Unfortunately it was already too late to go to Andalusia by bike, but luckily the presenter is already working on compensation.
She will not board the plane for her private holiday this summer, she says in the Party. “Last year I made a travel program for SBS 6, a place under the sun, in which we look for their dream house abroad for people. I then noticed that, perhaps also because I am in that (pre) menopause, I find travel very tiring.”
No meat
Not only tiring, but also difficult, says Bridget. “I also have a kind of flying shame. On the other hand: I don’t eat meat, but I do have a child again. You try to compensate for things a bit. But if flying is not necessary …”
This summer no KLM for our RTL Boulevard presenter. “I am going on vacation with my son Mees to Denmark this summer. It doesn’t have to be that far. I have also seen a lot of the world and I am super thinning for that, but I also like to stay around now and then with vacation,” she concludes.
