It sounds quite ominous: Glennis Grace goes with a team of friends to the tent camp in Ter Apel. Yet that is exactly what the singer is going to do today. The day before yesterday she started a fundraising campaign for the refugees who are staying there and today she goes with ‘a large group’ to the Groningen village to hand out stuff.

Glennis doesn’t want attention

Reporter Aran Bade tells RTL Boulevard that he is a bit skeptical. “I thought: if Glennis now says that she is going somewhere with a group of friends, then you are afraid of what will happen. Let’s face it, there’s a lot going on with her of course. Whether that casts a shadow on her action I don’t know.”

Glennis shows her mercy for the refugees via Instagram, but the singer says it is not about attention. “I don’t want to do this through the media, it’s not for attention. This is something I do with friends. Something I just have to do. I don’t think looking up the media is nice,” she tells the show column.

Bridget reacts critically

Bridget Maasland does not understand that Glennis says that she does not want media attention and therefore does not want to talk to RTL Boulevard. “I don’t quite get it, because she’s still looking for the media through Instagram and she wants to bring as many people as possible, so … Then take advantage of it.”

Aran: “Yes, but she doesn’t want to respond to that here in Boulevard and appear on screen.”

Presenter Daan Nieber: “But we do it anyway, so who knows it will pay off.”

Bridget: “I hope so.”

through the mangle

Glennis is quite put through the paces after her call to collect stuff for Ter Apel. Many people are particularly cynical about her announcement that she is going there with ‘a large group’. “The Jumbo in Ter Apel will not open on Sunday as a precaution,” says one Angela.

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker thinks Glennis is all about getting attention. “If you want to boost your own PR (in vain).”

And columnist Jan Dijkgraaf says: “Then Gordon will not be left behind.”
