Brent oil price hits highest level since 2014

The price of a barrel of Brent oil rose on Tuesday to its highest level in seven years. One of the reasons is the disrupted production in countries such as Libya and Nigeria, but there is also increased demand. The price of a barrel of North Sea Brent oil had risen to $86.95 (+0.54 percent) shortly after 3:10 a.m. Belgian time. In October 2014, the oil was worth $86.74. A day earlier, the record set in October 2018 had already been achieved.
