In front of their home crowd, the surprise team from Bremerhaven impressively defeated the previous tied leaders Eisbären Berlin 5:1 (1:0, 2:1, 2:0). Coach Thomas Popiesch’s team has now won ten of the last eleven league games.

Christian Wejse scored two goals for the hosts (7th minute, 34th). However, at the end of the second third, the Dane got carried away in a fistfight with Patrice Cormier, which resulted in a five-minute time penalty for both. The other goals for the Penguins were scored by Colt Adam Conrad (30th), Felix Scheel (48th) and Ross Mauermann (55th), while Tobias Eder scored for the Berliners (40th).
