The Benfica star stops for three months. Lukebakio, a Belgian striker, was injured during the match between Belgium and Liechtenstein valid for the World Cup qualifiers. Belgium won 7-0 and only came on in the 71st minute. In the 85th minute, however, he had to leave the pitch due to an ankle problem. The footballer left the field on his own two feet, but with a noticeable limp. After clinical tests the club revealed the extent of the problem, which turned out to be much worse than expected: “Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that the player Dodi Lukebakio has suffered a fracture to his left ankle. He will undergo surgery and his recovery period will begin.”
The player will be out of the field for three months, having to undergo a recovery phase, and this is a serious problem for Mourinho. The loss of Lukebakio, in fact, comes at an already decidedly negative moment for Benfica: in the championship the Eagles are six points away from leaders Porto and in Champions LeagueSo far, they have scored zero points. The Belgian is one of the most important players in the squad: arriving from Sevilla, and costing 25 million euros, he is decisive thanks to his speed and his great dribbling skills.
