Tino Martin thinks Gordon’s media attitude is incredibly clumsy. According to the singer, Goor owes it entirely to himself that he has become so unpopular. “Pispole.”
It is currently one of the more popular singers of Dutch songs: Tino Martin. Who were his role models in the past? He talks about it in the BNR show The Friday Move. “My heroes used to be Hazes, Froger… I’m completely good with René and I have also had him as a guest on my show.”
Goor under fire
Tino, born in 1984, has many examples. “I actually like all artists from the 90s, so Ruth Jacott, but also just Joling, Gordon… What they did at that time in the 90s… That’s actually the music I like the most.”
Host Wilfred Genee wonders how Tino views Gordon’s decline. “What do you think about what’s happening to Gordon now? He is quite under fire when it comes to his singing.”
Tino critical
Surprisingly, Tino turns out to be very critical of Goor. “I think he brings that on himself a bit, while: I’m good with him and I also think it’s a shame and sucks for him, because this guy could sing so terribly well. It was a white man with a soul voice.”
Sidekick Jan Slagter: “What happened to him then?”
Tino: “Yes, I think that sometimes the years start to count… You get a little older and you have to take good care of your voice.”
Pisspol
Goor is also not handling it well from an image perspective, says Tino. “I think he is sometimes a bit of a pain in the ass… He brings it on himself by the way he reacts to it and how he deals with it. That’s a shame.”
Jan about Goor’s much-discussed false performance: “Could it have been a moment? Do you ever have that feeling when you think: well, my voice today didn’t go well?”
Wilfred: “Well, that’s a difficult question for Tino, hahahahahaha!”
Tino: “No, not at all!”
Slips
Tino has also been in the news from time to time with fake appearances. “No, definitely… I’ve been singing for a long time and I’ve made a few slips and misses. I thought like that for a long time, after the corona period, like: it’s going to start again, but I don’t feel it.”
However, unlike Goor’s, his problem was temporary, Tino believes. “I was completely out of it and messed up a number of things for a year. I really got in trouble for that too. That is a thing of the past and now I am working on a new theater tour.”
