Breakdown at Commerzbank: incorrect debits after withdrawing cash – Commerzbank shares still higher after trading

There has been another breakdown at Commerzbank.

“At the weekend, due to a technical error by a service provider, there were some incorrect bookings in cash withdrawals by customers of third-party banks at our ATMs,” said a company spokeswoman on Wednesday. The news portal “Business Insider” had previously reported.

Commerzbank customers were not affected, the spokeswoman said. The correction is now being made by the bank. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.” The bank did not comment on how many people were affected by the glitch.

According to “Business Insider”, customers of other banks who had withdrawn cash from Commerzbank ATMs had the amounts deducted from their accounts several times.

Just last week it became known that fraudsters were able to plunder the bank accounts of Commerzbank customers through a security gap. At the time, the bank spoke of “a few individual cases”. The security gap has now been fixed. The “Finanz-Scene” portal first reported on the incident.

In Tradegate trading, Commerzbank gained 1.03 percent to 11.29 euros.
