Brazil easily defeated Haiti in group C. Carlo Ancelotti’s yellow canaries scored all the goals before halftime: 3-0. There are concerns about an injury to attacker Raphinha.
National coach Carlo Ancelotti already learned in the first match that Matheus Cunha can give Brazil an energetic boost. In the match against Morocco, the Manchester United attacker came on after the break, which was accompanied by much more threat.
It earned Cunha a starting place against Haiti on Friday evening in Philadelphia. Together with Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, he was tasked with breaking Haiti’s defensive wall. The trio succeeded after 23 minutes. Vinicius cut inside and shot at goalkeeper Johny Placide. The rebound was won by Cunha: 1-0.
Haiti bravely searched for an answer, but it cost them dearly. Cunha also finished his second big chance with a hard shot into the roof of the goal. In injury time of the first half, Vinicius Junior finally ended the match: 3-0.
However, it was not all good news for the Yellow Canaries. Because in the first half Raphinha went to the ground with an apparent muscle injury. The fast Barcelona attacker was immediately replaced by Ancelotti. It is still unclear how serious the injury is.

In the second half, the urgency was logically gone from Brazil’s game. It gave Haiti a little more space and a big opportunity. In the 63rd minute, Ricardo Adé headed hard towards goal from a corner. But Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson stopped the effort with a reflex.
Thanks to the victory, Brazil takes the lead in Group C. Based on goal difference, it is just above Morocco, which beat Scotland 1-0 earlier on Friday.
If the Netherlands itself finishes first or second in the group, Morocco or Brazil may be the opponent in the first knockout match.
