Süle “grateful” for reactions

After the emotional farewell to Julian Brandt and Niklas Süle in front of the home crowd in Borussia Dortmund, completely different future paths are emerging for the two. While Süle will end his career, Brandt’s next stop is open. “There’s nothing to reveal yet. But I’m really looking forward to it,” said Brandt after the 3-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. It was his last home game in the BVB jersey.
“I’m still very ambitious. I have a lot of good ideas, a lot of thoughts, but in the end it’s always the question of what can be implemented and, above all, what makes sense,” said the 30-year-old, who has played for BVB since 2019. “In the end, it should also be about enjoying this sport and having fun. That’s the most important thing for me.” He’s not worried about that.
Kovac has a premonition about Brandt’s future
In addition to many words of praise for the Bremen native, his current coach Niko Kovac also has a slight premonition: “He will certainly make the right decision. I already have a premonition, but I don’t know it 100 percent. I think it will be a good solution. There aren’t too many good ones left in Germany that he can play for now,” said the 54-year-old.
The coach has more clarity with football pensioner Süle. The 30-year-old made a short appearance at the end of the game and will hang up his boots completely after next Saturday’s game in Bremen. “Apparently he’s going to go golfing a bit now,” joked Kovac. Kovac also expressed another vision of the future for the future ex-professional to “Sky”: “He will probably travel the world.”
Süle himself said: “The last 48 hours have been very turbulent. There’s also been a bit of activity in the media. I understand that too. First and foremost, I’m grateful that the message I wanted to spread was received. I did this above all for my family and my children. I think that I’ve made sure to some extent that I don’t always have the best reputation. I’m grateful for how many counter-calls there were.”
