The result is clear: With 718.6 million views, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is officially the most viewed trailer within 24 hours.

The trailer, which was released on Wednesday, shattered the previous record after just eight hours: with 373 million views, it left “Deadpool and Wolverine” behind, which was previously at the top with 365 million views.

The Brand New Day trailer arrived a year after Tom Holland revealed his costume online – and marks his first appearance as Spider-Man since 2021’s No Way Home, which featured cameos from previous Spider-Man films, including Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Filming on the fourth film was briefly halted after Holland was injured on set and suffered a mild concussion.

Cast and theatrical release

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, opens in theaters July 31. In addition to Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo (returning as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk), Michael Mando (Mac Gargan/Scorpion) and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) can be seen. Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman also star.

In October 2024, Holland previewed the sequel, which was still in the scripting phase at the time, in an interview with the Rich Roll podcast. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we were jumping around the living room at times shouting, ‘This is a real movie that pays respect to the fans,'” he said. “But there are a few things we still need to sort out before we can really get going – but it’s exciting, I’m really looking forward to it.”
