Brand beats Alvarado in a direct duel and is world champion for the second time, Pieterse ensures a completely orange podium in Hulst

Lucinda Brand has fulfilled her role of favorite at the Cyclo-Cross World Championships. The 36-year-old cyclocross rider crossed the finish line solo in Hulst, Netherlands. She dealt with Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado who crossed the finish line in second. Despite a fall, Puck Pieterse crossed the line in third place and thus completed the Dutch podium.
