Germany’s best ski hunter Franziska Preuß currently wants to crown her strong season at the biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide (February 12th to 23rd).
“My approach has always been: If you make it onto the podium in the World Cup, this is also a realistic goal at a World Cup. I am grateful for the success this winter and hope to be able to build right there,” sent the leader in Overall World Cup a small declaration of war on the biathlon competition.
The 30-year-old added: “It is important for me to get to the races with a certain relaxation and to do my best. Then hopefully there is also reason to be happy.”
The vita of Franziska Preuss is already adorned with a gold and five silver medals at Biathlon World Championships and once bronze. If it is based on the form of the previous winter, further medals are likely to be added in the upcoming title fights in Switzerland.
Biathlon: Franziska Preuss with World Cup preparation “very satisfied”
“I already know the Lenzerheide from the World Cup last year and also from summer training. The route has many 1-1 passages for which I have already prepared myself in the summer. I think the work also paid off in the end of strength” said Preuss, who celebrated two of her three career single victories this season and won the season in Hochfilzen and Ruhpolding. “In addition, the atmosphere there is something special – the panorama is breathtaking and radiates an incredible positive energy. I am really looking forward to this World Cup.”
With the preparation for the climax of the biathlon winter, the Olympic bronze medalist from 2022 in Beijing “was very satisfied.
“The week in Antholz ran exactly according to plan,” said Preuss. “In training I was able to work on a few subtleties, regenerate well and enjoy the sun – hopefully with enough energy for the upcoming competitions.”
