A special team from the East Brabant police has rolled up a large international cyber crime network together with the American FBI. Servers and domains of the so-called Heartsender network were seized on Wednesday.
The police team of Oost-Brabant has been investigating Heartsender since the end of 2022, after the computer of a suspect in another investigation phishing software was found. Phising software is used to seduce people to reveal sensitive information.
America has been investigating the cyber crime network for some time. Together with Oost-Brabant, there was a joint operation, of which the action of Wednesday is the provisional final piece. The study found millions of data from victims worldwide, including around 100,000 Dutch data.
Heartsender
The usernames and passwords found may have been abused by cyber criminals. On the police website, people can check whether they may have become the victim of Heartsender. If it turns out to be an e-mail address in the data set, an e-mail will be sent with tips and information.

The network, which had thousands of customers worldwide, sold resources through various criminal web shops to contribute digital fraud.
With these drugs, cyber criminals can send large quantities of spam or get login details. On YouTube, among others, they advertised the websites where the products were sold.
The police also investigate the buyers of the products. She is already on track there, probably Dutch people are also among them.
