The Brabant-North safety region will be next month to provide crisis emergency shelter for 150 asylum seekers. Various regions must have reception ready in the near future, to prevent people from having to sleep in chairs in the hallway at the registration center in Ter Apel again.
The Security Region must have the crisis emergency shelter ready from June 29 to July 12. “We are currently in talks with a possible municipality where this could take place and we are taking the first preparatory actions,” reports the region. A specific location has not yet been named.
first batch
It is the task of various regions to arrange crisis emergency accommodation for asylum seekers. The first batch is Amsterdam-Amstelland, Groningen, Zeeland and Friesland. In the second half of June, it will be the turn of four other Security Regions. One of these is Brabant-North. It is not yet known which three other regions have been designated.
In any case, the distribution should provide sufficient reception capacity for the next twelve weeks to prevent people from having to sleep in chairs in the hallway of the application center in Ter Apel again, as has been the case several times in recent times.
