The BR Volleys have signed the Finn Antti Ronkainen as a new outside attacker. The 25-year-old Finnish international is moving to the Spree from fourth-placed Swiss first-division team Lausanne UC.

Anti Ronkainen signed a one-year contract with the German volleyball champions. This was announced by the BR Volleys on Thursday.

Ronkainen is the BR Volleys’ sixth signing for the coming season. With him, the squad now has 13 players and is complete.

“We are confident that we can absorb our departures with a balanced squad composition and hope that the team will find each other quickly,” said Volleys Managing Director Kaweh Niroomand about the personnel situation.

Ronkainen is no stranger to the Bundesliga. In the 2019/2020 season, which was canceled due to Corona, he played for SVG Lüneburg.

At the time, the Heidestadt team also had the current volley middle blocker Anton Brehme under contract. Brehme describes his old and new teammates as a “sympathetic and humorous team player”. And: “He brings a lot of emotions to the field.”
