Boys with fake guns at hospital, police approach with guns drawn

At the beginning of the evening, the police approached four boys with guns drawn, who were hanging around with a gun at the Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg. The police received a report about a firearm, but it turned out to be a fake gun.

The boys are 16 and 17 years old, police said. They would like to shoot a video with the fake gun. After the report, several officers approached with guns drawn and the foursome were surrounded. “We take these kinds of reports seriously, especially at a hospital,” said a police spokesman.

After the arrest, it turned out to be a pellet gun. “These kind of jokes are life-threatening. Stupid to walk on the street with it. This could have gone wrong. Don’t do it,” the police said. The boys are stuck.

It is forbidden to walk on the street with these types of weapons. “Airsoft weapons are indistinguishable from real weapons and will therefore be seen as threatening by other people. It must be well packaged and not immediately ready for use when you buy it and take it home,” said the police.
