Boy (9) missing in Ostend: major search underway
“The drowning person procedure has been started and a helicopter is being sought, among other things,” the police said. The police are looking for the child, who has been missing for some time, both in the sea and on the beach and the seawall. The lifeguards already got all swimmers out of the sea to get a better overview. A search is also underway in the vicinity of the station, because the boy and his family traveled by train from the Brussels region to the coast.
The child was last seen around 1.15 pm along the waterline, near the Kursaal.

The police are distributing a search message via social media: the boy who is wanted is Schadrac Esoko Longayo (9) from Koekelberg near Brussels. Schadrac is about 1.50 meters tall and was wearing gray shorts at the time of disappearance. If you have seen the boy, the police ask that you call 101 immediately.
