An 18-year-old man reported to the police after a 16-year-old was injured by thrown fireworks during the PSV ceremony on April 7. The second suspect, another man, is still wanted. The police previously distributed photos of the two.
“The other suspect has until Thursday to report to the police, after which we will make him recognizable,” the police report.
Two suspects, one has come forward
The boy lost two fingertips in the accident near De Markt and may have permanent hearing damage, the police reported in the previously distributed investigation report.
According to the police, camera images show how the two suspects work together to light and throw away the heavy fireworks. The fireworks are smoking heavily at that moment. The victim walks up with a friend and thinks it is a smoking torch. He picks it up but then it explodes in his left hand.
The boy is said to have walked towards the suspects, still bleeding heavily. They don’t help him. He does get help from other bystanders. After the victim was injured, they left the location without providing assistance.

According to the police, the men should have known that they were doing something that was not allowed. They are also accused of leaving after seeing someone seriously injured.
