The motorist who was arrested on Sunday evening after a collision with a boy (11) on a scooter was under the influence. The police report this on Monday. He is also accused of causing a danger and nuisance for other road users. It is a 26 -year -old man from Tilburg.
The victim is still in a hospital, nothing is known about his condition. The police have announced this.
The boy was hit on Sunday evening around half past seven on the Verdiplein in Tilburg. He was then stepping. At the time of the accident, more children were playing on Verdiplein, bystanders or those involved have told. Whether the other children were also stepping is unknown.
The emergency services were present soon after the accident. The motorist went to the police station where he has since made a statement.
The police immediately started an investigation on Sunday evening. Witnesses have been heard. All statements are included in the file that will later go to the Public Prosecution Service.
