It is not yet clear when ex-champion Anthony Joshua will fight his next fight. The promoter of the British, however, lets your eyes wander towards the end of the career of the superstar – of course not without targeting Tyson Fury.
For Anthony Joshua, 2025 does not run as originally planned. Actually, the Brit wanted to stand in the ring again in the summer, rehabilitate for his devastating co-defeat against compatriot Daniel Dubois and herald a continuous attack on the heavyweight throne.
Nothing has become of it. The 35-year-old had to take a break due to an operation on the elbow. Before autumn it won’t be with the comeback.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn made it clear that there was not much to get for his Protegé. “2026 may be in sports last year. If I (the career end of Joshuas, note d.d.Red.) Nachthenke, it may be three fights,” said Hearn.

For Joshua’s comeback, he introduced himself an opponent “who votes him for a really big fight in 2026,” said the Englishman with a view to the comeback opponent of the ex-world champion vague.
According to media reports, Joshua’s old rival Dillian Whyte, US hope Jared Anderson and the former WBC champion Deontay Wilder are under discussion.

Hearn, however, actually sees only one opponent for Joshua: Tyson Fury – provided the “Gypsy King” revokes his resignation from January.
“I advise AJ: ‘We’ll come back this year, make two fights against Tyson Fury and what else is there?'” Said Hearn. As soon as Joshua hit the “Battle of Britain” against Fury, “he did everything”.
“Somehow it really feels to come back this year, to box Tyson Fury twice next year and then sail into the sunset,” Hearn painted his boxer a way to retire.
