Boxing champion Oleg Prudky († 30) dies defending against Russia

Boxer Oleg Prudky died defending Ukraine against Russian invaders. The athlete was only 30 years old and had a job with special forces.

Death in Ukraine: Oleg Prudky was a former amateur boxer and worked for the Cherkasy Police Special Forces to fight the Russian invasion. When their base was attacked on Sunday, the 30-year-old and three other colleagues died. This is reported unanimously by the media and the Ukrainian boxing association.

The Ukrainian was a two-time amateur champion and called up to the Ukrainian Otamans team for the World Series of Boxing semi-professional competition. Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk represented this before.

The Ukrainian boxing federation also regrets the death of the former professional: “We are sad to announce that the master of sport in the international boxing class, the champion of Ukraine, Oleg Prudky, died in a fight against the Russian occupiers.” The association expressed its condolences to the family and promised “eternal memories”.
