Traditional club dismisses trainers and managers

The traditional Osnabrück club has released coach Pit Reimers and sports director Philipp Kaufmann. Things have been going really badly for the third division team recently.
VfL Osnabrück, which fell to last place in the 3rd football league, responded to the ongoing failure with several exemptions. As the second division relegated team announced on Tuesday, the coaching team around head coach Pit Reimers was relieved of their duties, as was managing director Sport Philipp Kaufmann. It is currently unclear who will take over the vacant positions in the future.
The preparation for the upcoming home game against Rot-Weiss Essen on Sunday (at 4.30 p.m. in the t-online live ticker) was initially entrusted to Alexander Ukrow, head of the youth performance center. In terms of club management, Finance Director Michael Welling will once again take over overall responsibility, which he already held until Kaufmann was hired from FC Basel at the end of March.
The club is no longer convinced that it can “keep up in the league with the current personnel constellation,” said President Holger Elixmann: “We have only collected eleven points after 17 match days, which is too little in all respects and simply unacceptable.”
Reimers only took over the coaching job at VfL from Uwe Koschinat at the end of September and has only won once in nine league games since then. On Sunday at Viktoria Köln (0-2) there was already the fifth defeat of his term in office. The Osnabrück team said that “discussions are now being held with the two assistant coaches Tim Danneberg and Heiko Flottmann about what future integration at VfL will look like.”
