Jesper de Jong has easily reached the second round of the tennis tournament in Umag. He defeated Mili Poljicak, the number 277 of the world ranking from Croatia: 6-3 6-3.
De Jong encounters in the second round of the Gravelel Tournament in the Croatian city on the Argentinian Mariano Navone.
The 25-year-old De Jong was in the final of an ATP tournament for the first time on Sunday. In the Swedish coastal town of Bastad, he went down in three sets against the Italian Luciano Darderi: 4-6 6-3 3-6. De Jong made a leap on the world ranking through his final place. He climbed from the 106th to 83rd place.
