Journalist Tuomas Enbuske, 47, was contacted by the police just over a year ago. She was suspected of assaulting her former female friend on June 9, 2019.

The woman said in police interrogations, both later in the district court, that the relationship had been overshadowed by Enbuske’s black -skinned behavior.

– The next morning he could send flowers to my workplace, and my colleague admired how wonderful a man I have.
The woman described the assault in June 2019 for a two -year relationship for a “turning point”.
– Trust and security disappeared from our relationship then. However, we had joint work projects, so we were dealing with each other.
An argument about tightening

– Since the video has apparently not tightened enough economic benefits, it has only been delivered to the police at the last minute before the end of the prosecution.
Police suspected a former female friend of blackmail, but did not find evidence that supports suspicion. According to Enbuske, it is unreasonable to assume that evidence is still presented five years later.
Both of them ashamed
The woman reported the crime for assault about four and a half years after the events. Prosecution is expired in five years.
– At no time did I call the emergency center, and I didn’t want to mess up the outsiders. I was terribly ashamed.
The woman said she thought she would destroy Enbuske’s career and life if you report violence to the police.
– I somehow wanted to protect him, and nevertheless, he was a really important person for me then.

– I was so in love, and as a man I experienced a great sense of shame about being assaulted and blackmailing. The assault experienced by a man is still a taboo in our society.
Doubts on both sides

Events almost six years ago were dealt with in the Helsinki District Court last week.
Enbuske is the only accused of the story.
Police had investigated the violence against a female friend Enbuske as mild assault, whose prosecution is expired in two years.
However, the woman denied in police interrogations that she had been abused by Enbuske.
– It may be that I have hit him with an open face in a situation when he has kept me against the wall. But that’s the only situation where I hit him if it can be called to hit it.
Enbuske said in the District Court that he had tried to exercise the right to prosecute the lawyer and accuse a woman of basic assault. However, the woman could not be challenged before the prosecution was expired.
