A federal court in Boston has refused to release on bail of $ 2.5 million Russian Vladislav Klyushin, who is accused in the United States of carrying out an illegal insider trading scheme, the agency reports. Reuters… Judge Marianne Bowler agreed with the position of the prosecutor’s office that if he agreed to send a Russian under house arrest, he could make an attempt to leave the United States.

Bowler also noted that Klyushin is a citizen of a country that would not extradite him to the United States. In addition, there is no exact data on the assets of the Russian, although it is known that he has property, including in the UK.

Klyushin himself, who was extradited to the United States from Switzerland, did not admit his guilt. Earlier, his lawyer Oliver Chirich argued that the real reason for the arrest of the Russian was his ties with the government. According to him, the American and British special services tried to recruit Klyushin earlier.

Klyushin is charged with conspiracy to gain illegal access to computers, as well as securities fraud. The prosecution claims that the attackers “hacked systems, stole information” in order to carry out an illegal insider trading scheme.

According to the indictment documents, Klyushin worked for the Moscow information technology company M13. This company specializes on information technology in the field of media monitoring. Its website says that the company’s IT solutions are used, among other things, in the administration of the President of Russia, the government of Russia.
