Bosschenaar (39) arrested in connection with the robbery of Mark Gillis

A 39-year-old man from Den Bosch was arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the robbery of Mark Gillis in Ommel. The identity of this suspect became known after his DNA was found during the forensic examination. The man has been detained.

Mark Gillis, known for the reality series on TV about his family, was brutally robbed in the night of 6 to 7 November last year when he arrived at his chalet at the Prinsenmeer holiday park. After the robbery, the forensic team conducted an extensive investigation of traces in and around the victim’s chalet, during which various traces were secured. These included DNA traces of the perpetrators. This track led to a ‘hit’ in the DNA database of the Netherlands Forensic Institute. The resident of Bossche was arrested at his home and is being held for further investigation.

The investigation into the Mark Gillis robbery continues unabated. “We are still looking for two, but possibly even three other perpetrators,” said a police spokesperson.

“In the search for the perpetrators, we already showed surveillance images in the investigation programs Bureau Brabant and Opsporing Verzocht, which showed a reconstruction and surveillance images of part of the robbery. Who can tell us more about the white van that was used shortly before the robbery? drove around the park near Gillis’ chalet? Does that say something? Does anyone know where the stolen items, including watches and special model sunglasses, have gone? We would like to hear more about that too.”
