The British department store chain John Lewis announced a change in management on Tuesday. Pippa Wicks, who has served as executive director at the retailer since 2020, will be leaving the company “after a period of significant change,” parent company John Lewis Partnership said in a statement.

The successor was initially arranged internally. Naomi Simcock, John Lewis’ Retail Director, will take over management of the retail chain “with immediate effect on an interim basis,” the group said.

Sharon White, Chair of the Board of Directors of John Lewis Partnership, paid tribute to the outgoing executive: “I am very grateful for Pippa’s services to John Lewis. She has played an integral role in reviving the brand,” she said in a statement. Under Wicks’ leadership, John Lewis set a new sales record and won the award for UK retailer with best customer service, White said.
