The chairman of the charity founded by Prince Harry, the chairman of the Sentebale, accuses the prince of “devastating harassment” and bullying. Chairman of the African Sentebale Sophie Chandau describes Harry and Meghan Markle’s ways of working toxin.

Harry founded Sentebale in 2006 in memory of his late mother, Princess Diana. The organization was founded to help young people with AIDS in Lesoth and Botswana.

Harry served as a patron of Sentebale, but he left the organization earlier this week after arguing with Chandau. At the same time the Prince of Lesotho Seeisoone of the founders of the organization, followed Harry’s example and left the organization.

Chairman Chandauka has previously said that the charity has been plagued by poor management, weak leadership, abuse of power, bullying and female hatred. In an interview given to Sky News, he especially stings Harry about the organization’s problems.

“The biggest risk of this organization was the toxicity of its leading protector’s personal brand,” Chandauka says in the interview, referring to Harry.

– At some point on Tuesday, Prince Harry published a harmful news to the world without informing me, leaders or my executive director. Can you imagine what that attack has done to me and those of 540 people in Sentebale and their families. It is an example of extensive harassment and bullying.

The interview with Sky News will be published in full on Sunday. The content of the interview has been reported by Reuters, a news agency. According to Sky News, Harry and Meghan refused to respond to the comment request.

Over the years, Prince Harry has funded Sentebale’s activities over the years. He directed over a £ 1 million of his Spare book sales revenue in 2022. In 2023, Sentebale’s total income was £ 3.4 million.

Harry asked Meghan for protection

On Saturday Chandauka said For the Financial Timesthat a Harry team had asked him a year ago to protect Meghan from negative publicity. Chandauka refused at the request of the prince.

The tensions between Chandau and the trustees escalated in February when the shop stewards asked Chandau to resign. They accused him of losing funding for the organization while increasing consultants.

Chaundau said he had submitted the report to the United Kingdom charity commission in February.

“I see the resignation request straight to the fact that I have made significant concerns about the current administration and leadership of the charity,” he wrote to the Commission.

In March, Chaundau was trying to prevent the organization from separating him by taking his position to the Supreme Court of the UK.

“They thought I wouldn’t have the courage to take legal action,” Chandauka said.

The princes left Sentebale on Wednesday

On Wednesday, Harry and Seeiso said in a common statement that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and Chandau had been interrupted. The princes announced that they would leave their place as Sentebale’s patron.

Sentebale said in the statement that “people in the field” are more important than the charitable organization’s trustees.

“There are people in the world who behave as if they were above the law and treat people badly, and then they sacrifice and harm people who have the courage to challenge their behavior,” Sentebale’s statement said.

For the Financial Times, Chandauka says that the organization is not dependent on Harry’s protection.

“Sentebale will continue to live, either with or without you,” Chandauka says, referring to Harry.
