Borussia Mönchengladbach: Transfer of Robin Hack fixed – fee for Arminia Bielefeld

Quoted from Chris_15

Properly hyped at Nuremberg, he has not lived up to expectations at all in the last two years. It seems completely overrated to me. However, I didn’t see much last season or I sometimes had the feeling that he played in the wrong position. For me, he seems wasted on the outside – especially when his team can’t counter. Maybe he should play a lot more centrally, because his shooting technique was one of the skills that made him do well in Nürnberg, right?

I also have absolutely no idea how mental he is.
In any case, he should be grateful that his management has placed him in the first division again. Should be his last chance to really ignite. I’m curious.

It’s funny that you claim you hardly saw any games last season and still think you can rate the player’s performance. On what basis?
The fact is that you are completely wrong with your statement, at least as far as last season is concerned. In any case, we from Bielefeld didn’t expect more from him than what he showed us last year, so he certainly lived up to our expectations. Hack had his personal best season and was Arminia’s best and most consistent player.
One or the other will perhaps look at the scorers and think a good second division level, but is that enough for the Bundesliga? Here, however, it must be taken into account that Hack played in a team that played extremely poorly for large parts of the season and acted so haphazardly in attack that 15 scorers is a very impressive value. Almost the entire first half of the season and parts of the second half of the season, our tactic was long and far forward and hoping for chance. Not exactly a style of play that suits Robin Hack’s strengths.
If you want to evaluate your Bundesliga season, then the verdict will certainly be much worse. But here, too, you have to take a closer look and take all the circumstances into account. Because even if he wasn’t completely convincing, he was the only offensive player besides Okugawa who showed the potential for the Bundesliga. At the beginning of the season, Hack was our most noticeable player and had some really strong moves, but he was very unlucky in finishing. Several goals from a goalkeeper and brilliant saves by the goalkeeper prevented him from being able to reward his strong performance with goals. As a result, he lost his regular place and with it a lot of self-confidence. As the season progressed, he was thrown back again and again by minor injuries and failures. At the end of the season he was able to stabilize again and is one of our best offensive players. If you take into account that we weren’t really good at times and didn’t have an offensive plan at all, then you’ll see that it’s very difficult to regain lost self-confidence.

Personally, I’m very excited to see how he will present himself in Gladbach, especially under the new coach. Personally, I trust him to take another step forward and establish himself in the Bundesliga.
