Borussia Mönchengladbach probably has to do without Stammtorwart Moritz Nicolas until the end of the season. As the foals announced, the 27-year-old suffered an adductor injury in the 2-1 victory at Union Berlin and has already been operated on. So far, Nicolas played 20 competitive games this season and stayed five times without conceding a goal.
“Moritz developed great and played an outstanding season. Of course, we are sorry for him that he is now stopped by an injury. Mo knows that the whole club is behind him and we support him where we can so that it comes back from this phase, ”said sports director Roland Virkus.
A new chance should now be offered for Jonas Omlin, who had been between the posts in the DFB Cup and in the first three season games before he had been slowed down by a calf injury.
