Borré farewell is getting closer: SV Werder Bremen confirms striker search

After just four months at the club, Rafael Borré reportedly wants to leave SV Werder Bremen again. The loan player from Eintracht Frankfurt is said to have received a lucrative offer from Brazil. So far, the Hanseatic League has given the impression that it absolutely does not want to let the attacker go in the winter. However, head of football Clemens Fritz is now taking a different tone.

On Tuesday, the former professional and current official revealed that the club is definitely considering a possible Borré departure.

“Of course a situation can arise when it becomes lucrative for Frankfurt, when it becomes lucrative for us, that we have to think about it,” explained Fritz: “But we’re not at that point yet.”

Borré is said to have aroused the interest of Brazilian first division club Internacional Porto Alegre. According to “Deichstube”, the Colombian international’s advisors have already informed Bremen and Eintracht of this.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano even wrote on X (formerly Twitter) about a verbal agreement between Borré and Internacional.

Werder Bremen “with one eye on the striker market”

Werder had the center forward on short-term loan in the summer to replace Niclas Füllkrug, who had moved to Borussia Dortmund. The collaboration is only planned until the summer; there is no purchase option.

So far, Borré has fit in well with the Hanseatic League with four goals and recently improved performances. “He is a very important player for us who has made a great contribution here,” emphasized Fritz. Therefore, they have “no interest in giving Rafael away.”

Nevertheless, table 13 is busy. now with alternatives. “It would be very negligent if we did not keep this position in mind,” Fritz made clear. That’s why we’re “keeping an eye on the striker market.”
