Borger-Odoorn wants action against windmill nuisance, ‘but breaking it down is an illusion’

Council of State and European Court rulings

The Council of State determined that the cabinet has not taken into account the effects that the windmills have on the environment in the national standards that apply to the construction of wind turbines. The highest administrative court bases this on a ruling by the European Court of Justice on a Belgian wind farm. An environmental assessment should have been made there.

Current standards that apply nationally for, for example, noise, the so-called cast shadow of the blades and the safety of wind turbines, must therefore be reviewed again. The government is currently in the process of establishing these new standards.
